Helping Creators, Freelancers & Creative Entrepreneurs 🔥
As a creator, you might be struggling a lot with things related to your business or running into a thousand questions all the time, on how to operate as a business, & you might not know the answer.
This week I have a very special post to share; it’s going to be only one. Pedro, who worked with me during the past years, is starting his own YouTube Channel to help creators operate as businesses.
But, what does this mean? For us creators, freelancers, or someone like me that lives of a craft, like illustration and digital art, it’s sometimes difficult to separate the craft from the businesses. And most of us do not have the full experience to know what to do when we need to price, review a contract, or deal with a conflictive client. I get these questions (and many more) all the time from you guys.
We also often get hooked on things like Instagram not showing our posts (guilty as charged) because creation is really personal to us. We move away from seeing what we do as part of business strategy, including posting on Instagram.
So this year, Pedro decided to share what he knows in a new YouTube channel aimed at creators like you or me. Pedro’s background is in finance and international operations, he worked for huge companies for the past 20+ years, and during the past ones, he worked with me, helping me with my creative business. And he also helped many creators we meet along the way to run theirs better. From strategy to pricing and brand deals, getting clients, and including how to actually make content. He is also the one behind the camera, edit, and production of my videos :)
This is his first video, where he talks about what he wants to do with the channel and asks you to leave in the comments any struggle or question you have; he might help to answer. For example, you guys asked me a lot, “Is Etsy a good way to start”, “My client is complex”, “How I price or change my prices”, etc..” Now you can ask anything creative business-related, he will either reply or make a video about it, from the perspective of someone who has 20 years of experience in finance and running creative business :)
Also, hopefully, many of you subscribe to his channel. When he gets monetized, he will be donating all the money he makes out from YouTube ad revenue to an environmental cause every month. He is also an environmentalist, and it’s his way to give back to the planet. He wants to create an impact by helping creators make a better living and positively impact the environment.
So don’t be shy; if you have any questions, watch the video, ask away in the comment sections. I promise it will be worth it.
