Becoming a MetaCreator
NFTs are not just JPGs! How this affects us as creators?
Pedro (my husband) just posted a new video about NFTs from the creative perspective. Like for you and me. The video does not focus on investing in those NFTs you see in the news, but how can we as creatives use the NFT and blockchain technology to either create our projects, sell our art as NFT or work with brands that will soon require us to be MetaCreators.
In his video, which I’m linking below, he goes from the general of what an NFT actually is. Contrary to popular belief, I learned that those are not just JPGs people pay thousands or even millions of dollars, but something else that will change the way we interact with the Internet kind of forever.
Personally, although the idea sounds really appealing, I haven’t created any NFTs. The reason for me is the environmental impact, that although reduced, is still attached to the very nature of anything blockchain. I’m looking into ways to work with some of those technologies to share my work, but I haven’t found something that I feel comfortable with. I’m also not an expert in this matter.
So if you are passionate about new technologies and how this can be full of opportunities for creators of any kind, be sure to check the video and if you have any doubts, ask him! He can share all about NFTs, Web3, and The Metaverse with you all.
Also, subscribe to his channel, as he is creating videos for creatives to help us work better as a business. He covers topics like where to sell art, comparisons; he is working on videos about pricing your creative work, brand deals, content creation, contracts, and stuff we need to operate as a small creative business.
BlackFriday 2021 - 24hs left
Saw some cool discounts for online classes I can recommend!
I'm not really participating in Black Friday as a consumer, but I always check and recommend attractive sales on anything related to our creative work. This year there are some very big sales and bundles on creative courses I'd like to share with you.
For Black Friday, you can build your own class bundle for a very attractive price. I’m sharing below the classes I chose for myself.
A course I took not so long ago is all about creating a cover for a children's illustrated book. This class is one of my favorite ones I have taken so far. It's really creative, easily explained if you're a beginning illustrator. Manu's work is very rich with creative ideas and concepts, and it's great to see the behind-the-scenes of her artwork. I really recommend the class to anyone interested in illustrating children's books or book covers!
Using my code “ASIAORLANDO_-CODE10” you get an extra 10% discount on top of the discounted classes.
Now those are the classes that I have in my queue, waiting for me to take them. I chose for my bundle:
A class about gouache painting: I'm currently practicing working with gouache paints, creating small scenes in my sketchbook and bigger illustrations on some slightly textured paper. I can't wait to take this class to learn something more and have company while I paint!
I’ll be sharing something soon on my Instagram about how my project is looking so far! Remember using my code “ASIAORLANDO_-CODE10” you get an extra 10% discount on top of the discounted classes.
I already started this class, and so far, it's pretty awesome! Izzy's work is spectacular, and I love having a glimpse of how she builds her amazing cinematographic scenes. She's amazing at working with light and shadow, and that's why this class is a big inspiration.
I'll share with you something more about it once I finish it.

I have this class on my list. I want to incorporate animation into my art, and I heard so many great things about Catalina’s class. I experimented a bit with the Procreate animation function, but I wanted to take this course as well because it also goes into how to work with After Effects and in a way that's not complex at all.
Host Our Planet Week 2022
The organization for OPW22 has already started. I’m looking for hosts!
During the past weeks, I’ve been selecting the new host team for the 3rd edition of Our Planet Week. And this year, I thought to let you guys participate and apply to become a host.
I’ll look at all the applications and see if your activity & work align with Our Planet Week. I’m also considering having the Discord server that now is a to hosts and the community. So I' might be looking into someone who would like to help on that front to help spread climate awareness.
I will be announcing more on the discord server soon, but for now, if you care about the environment, plus you'd like the chance to participate as a host, please complete the form below.
I will only reach out if you are selected. No need to follow up to check for updates :)
